David Ng: Laboratory Technician (2017-2021)
David received his B.S. in Biochemistry from Stony Brook University. He joined the Egeblad Lab in 2017. He was working on the influences of the microenvironment in metastasis, focusing on the role of neutrophil extracellular traps as drivers of lung metastasis, with Jean Albrengues and Xue-Yan He as his daily mentors. David is currently a graduate student at Rockefeller University.

Laura Maiorino: Graduate Student, CSHL School of Biological Sciences (2014-2019)
Laura received her M.S in Medical, Molecular and Cellular Biotechnology from the San Raffaele University in Milan, Italy. In the Egeblad lab, she was studying host regulation of lung and liver metastasis and developing new intravital imaging windows.

Emilis Bruzas: Graduate Student, CSHL School of Biological Sciences (2015-2019)
Emilis obtained his BA in Natural Sciences with a concentration in Biochemistry from the University of Cambridge in 2014. In the Egeblad lab, Emilis studied how the innate and adaptive immune systems control breast cancer dormancy and recurrence.

Harrison Seidner: Postdoctoral fellow (2018-2019)
Harrison received his Ph.D. in Biomedical Engineering from Stony Brook University, NY. There he developed a custom microscope and a microfluidic apparatus to study the contribution of surface nanobubbles to cell-cell interactions under the direction of Dr. Mary Frame. In the Egeblad Lab, he was developing new methods for intravital multi-photon microscopy to study cancer cells in their microenvironment.

Jean Albrengues: Postdoctoral Fellow (2015-2019)
Jean received his Ph.D. from the University of Nice-Sophia Antipolis, France, where, he focused on the role of the cytokine LIF during the activation and the epigenetic maintenance of pro-invasive fibroblasts, under the direction of Dr. Cedric Gaggioli. In the Egeblad lab, he worked on the role of neutrophil extracellular traps and inflammation in awakening dormant cells. He is currently a Scientist at INSERM, IRCAN, Nice, France.

Mario Shields: Postdoctoral Fellow (2012-2018)
Mario received his Ph.D. from Northwestern University, Evanston IL, where he examined the role of Snail family of transcription factors and matrix metalloproteinases in pancreatic cancer progression with Dr. Munshi. In the Egeblad lab, he investigated the role of fibrillar collagen and lysyl oxidases in pancreatic cancer progression and developed approaches for intravital microscopy of pancreatic cancer invasion.

Victoria Kuettner: Postdoctoral Fellow (2014-2017)
Victoria received her Ph.D. from the University of Freiburg, Germany, where she investigated the role of collagen VII in the extracellular matrix of dermal fibroblasts with Prof. Leena Bruckner-Tuderman and Prof. Joern Dengjel. In the Egeblad lab, she was studying extracellular vesicle-mediated tumor-stroma communication in breast cancer.

Lindsay Puckett, Visiting Research Fellow (2016-2017)
Lindsay Puckett received her MD from St. Georges University in 2012 and was a Radiation Oncology resident at Northwell Health. She joined the Egeblad lab in August 2016 as a visiting research fellow and investigated the immune response to radiation in a murine breast cancer model. Lindsay’s fellowship was supported through the collaborative partnership between Northwell Health and Cold Spring Harbor Laboratory.

Jacqueline Cappellani: Laboratory Technician (2011-2017)
Jacqueline received her B.S in Marine Science from the University of Maine. She joined the Egeblad lab in 2011 and managed the lab, maintained the mouse colonies, and administered and measured response to various therapeutic treatments.

Miriam Fein: Graduate Student, Stony Brook University (2011-2016)
Miriam received her M.A. from Hunter College in Molecular, Cell, and Developmental Biology. She joined the Genetics program of Stony Brook University in 2010, and subsequently joined the Egeblad lab in 2011. She was studying tumor-host interactions leading to immune suppression using intravital imaging in mouse models.

Juwon Park: Postdoctoral Fellow (2010-2016)
Juwon received her Ph.D. from Seoul National University, Republic of Korea, and joined the Egeblad lab in Autumn 2010. She was studying the importance of neutrophil extracellular traps (NETs) in the metastatic process.

Robert Wysocki: Graduate Student, MD/PhD, Stony Brook University (2012-2016)
Bobby received his B.A. from Hamilton College. He worked at The Rockefeller University before joining the MD/PhD program at Stony Brook University in 2010. While in the Egeblad laboratory, he studied the role of neutrophil extracellular traps in breast cancer metastasis. Bobby is currently finishing his medical training.

Ana S. Almeida: Postdoctoral Fellow (2013-2016)
Ana received her Ph.D. from Université Pierre et Marie Curie – Paris VI, France, where she studied host-pathogen interactions in the lungs with Prof. Philippe Sansonetti at Pasteur Institute. In the Egeblad lab, she was studying how the microenvironment favors tumor initiation and how cancer cells evade elimination by the immune system.

Yibin Jia: Visiting Graduate Student (2014-2015)
Yibin Jia was a visiting graduate student from the Medical School of ShanDong University, China. While in the Egeblad Lab, he studied the origin of the poorly-differentiated, therapy resistant cancer cells using mouse models of breast cancer and intravital imaging.

Anaïs Eberhardt: Visiting student (2015)
Anaïs was a visiting student from the Ecole Normale Supérieure de Lyon, France, where she was a master student in Cell Biology and Genetics. While in the Egeblad lab, she worked with Miriam Fein on how cancer cells regulate immune surveillance.

Jae-Hyun Park: Postdoctoral Fellow (2010-2013)
Jae-Hyun received his Ph.D. from The University of Tokyo, Japan. While in the Egeblad Lab, he worked on lineage tracing cancer cells from different microenvironments and on how different oncogenic activations in cancer cells made the tumors depend on different microenvironmental factors. Jae-Hyun is currently Chief Scientific Officer at Oncotherapy Science Inc., Japan.

Tim Kees: Postdoctoral Fellow (2010-2012)
Tim received his Ph.D. from the University of Heidelberg, Germany, where he worked on brain tumor immunology with Dr. Règnier-Vigoroux Lab at the German Cancer Research Center. He worked on approaches to abrogate myeloid cell-mediated immune suppression while in the Egeblad lab. He is currently Lab Head Bioanalytics at Novartis, Basel, Switzerland.

Megha Rajaram: Graduate student, post (2013)
Megha received her Ph.D. from Stony Brook University working with Dr. Scott Powers at Cold Spring Harbor Laboratory where she studied tumor-stromal genomics of breast cancer. She was in the Egeblad lab May-July 2013, for a short-term project investigating mechanisms by which tumor supportive fibroblasts promote breast cancer progression. She has since been a postdoctoral fellow at the National Health Institute, Bethesda, and is currently a Technical Sales Specialist at Fisher Scientific.

Yumi Kunigasa: Visiting postdoctoral fellow (2013-14)
Yumi got her Ph.D. from that Graduate school of Medicine, Osaka University in 2007. She worked on the role of neutrophils in metastasis while visiting the Egeblad lab, and was supported by a fellowship from Japan Society for the Promotion of Science (JSPS).

Elizabeth Nakasone: Graduate Student (2009-2012)
Beth received her B.S. from University of Southern California. She came to CSHL and the Watson School of Biological Sciences (WSBS) in 2008. Beth joined the Egeblad lab in 2009 and graduated in Spring 2012. She contributed critically to our work on the role of myeloid cells in the response of breast cancer to chemotherapy. She subsequently obtained an M.D. at John A. Burns School of Medicine, University of Hawaii at Manoa. She is currently a Resident Physician at UCLA.

Naiara Perurena: Visiting Graduate Student (2014)
Naiara visited the Egeblad lab in the summer of 2014, while a Ph.D. candidate from Center for Applied Medical Research (CIMA), University of Navarra, Spain. 

Wenjing Zhang: Visiting Graduate Student (2012)
Wenjing visited the Egeblad lab in the summer of 2012, while a Ph.D. candidate from Wuhan University, China. She worked with Tim Kees and gained experience with mouse models of cancer and live imaging. She is currently a postdoc fellow at Indiana University – Purdue University Indianapolis.

Mako Yamamoto: Visiting Graduate Student (2011-12)
Mako visited the Egeblad lab in the winter of 2011-2012, while a Ph.D. candidate from Kyoto University in Japan. She worked with Tim Kees on generating reporter cell lines for live cell imaging of the activities tumoricidal macrophages. She is currently a postdoctoral fellow at University of California, San Diego.

Hanne Askautrud: Visiting Graduate Student (2010-2011)
Hanne received her M.S from the University of Oslo, Norway, and she is currently a graduate student in the Frengen lab at the Institute for Medical Genetics at the University of Oslo. Hanne was introduced to the technique of live imaging while working with Mikala in Zena Werb’s lab at UCSF. She came back to visit the Egeblad lab to finish our collaboration on how the tumor microenvironment regulates the response to cytotoxic chemotherapy.

Morten Gronbech Rasch: Visiting Graduate Student (2010)
Morten received his M.S. from University of Aarhus, Denmark. He was a graduate student at University of Copenhagen and the Finsen Laboratory in the Høyer-Hansen Lab while visiting the Egeblad lab for 6 months in 2010. He studied the role of matrix metalloproteinases in different mouse models of breast cancer. He graduated in 2011 and is currently a Research Scientist at Novo Nordisk A/S.

Oi Wing (Sam) Mark: Laboratory Technician
Sam received his B.S. in biochemistry from the Stony Brook University and joined the Egeblad lab as a lab technician in 2013 to learn how to perform animal experiments. He is interested in the technologies used in cancer research, including intravital imaging of mice. Sam is currently studying medicine in the New York College of Podiatric Medicine in August 2013.

Jing (Michelle) Qiu: Laboratory Technician (2010-2012)
Michelle got her M.Sc. in engineering at New York University. While in the Egeblad, she gained lots of experience with mouse models of cancer and with live imaging. She is currently a graduate student at University of Washington, St. Louise.

Pranay Sinha: Laboratory Technician (2009-2010)
After graduating with a B.S. in Biology from Adelphi University, New York, Pranay spent a year experiencing full time research in the Egeblad lab. He went on to study Medicine at University of Virginia and is currently doing an internal medicine residency at Yale.

Henry Ashworth: Student in the Undergraduate Research Program (URP) (2014)
Henry is an undergraduate at Eckerd College. He joined the Egeblad lab as an undergraduate research program (URP) participant during the summer of 2014 and worked together with postdoctoral fellow Mario Shields on the role of lysyl oxidase family members in regulation of invasion in pancreatic cancer.

Pascal Maquin: Student in the Undergraduate Research Program (URP) (2013)
Pascal is an undergraduate and Howard Hughes Medical Institute fellow at Hunter College in the City of New York. He joined the Egeblad lab as an undergraduate research program (URP) participant and together with postdoctoral fellow Mario Shields, he is researching the expression and the role of the lysyl oxidase family in pancreatic cancer.

Michael J. Bocek: Student in the Undergraduate Research Program (URP) (2012)
Mike Bocek was an URP during the 2012 summer program, and worked with Jae-Hyun Park using the Brainbow system for tracking cell populations in tumors. He graduated from the University of Washington in 2013, and is currently a Ph.D student in the Cancer Biology department at Stanford University.

Henry Cheung: Partners For the Future Student (2014-15)
Henry worked with Mario Shields while a senior from Seaford High School during the 2014-15 school year. He worked on identifying immune cells that are influenced by fibrosis in pancreatic cancer.

Seungmin Yi: Partners For the Future Student (2014-15)
Seungmin worked with Ana Almeida while a senior from Wheatley High School during the 2014-15 school year. She worked on crosstalk between macrophages and T cells in breast cancer. 

Priyanka Kumar: Partners For the Future Student (2013-14)
Priyanka worked with Mario Shields while a senior from Syosset High School during the 2013-14 school year. She is now a undergraduate at Harvard University.

Michelle Long: Partners for the future student (2012-2013)
Michelle was a high school senior from Syosset High School when she helped investigating the role of neutrophils in breast cancer metastasis with mentor, Juwon Park, as part of the CSHL Partners for the Future program. Michelle continues her scientific pursuits as an undergraduate student at Harvard University.

Daniel Sikavi: Partners for the future student (2011-2012)
Daniel was a senior at Roslyn High School when he worked on using multiple fluorescent labeling to examine individual breast cancer cells under the tutelage of Jae-Hyun Park through the CSHL Partners for the Future program. He currently attends Princeton University, where he plans to pursue a degree in molecular biology.

Gloria DiMino: Partners for the future student (2010-2011)
Gloria was a high school senior at Garden City High School and worked on optimizing protocols for immunohistochemistry as part of the CSHL Partners for the Future program. She is currently attending Columbia University as a Senior Research Fellow.

Benjamin Hartman: Partners for the future student (2009-2010)
Ben was a senior at North Shore High School when he experienced research in the Egeblad lab as part of the CSHL Partners for the Future program. He is currently an undergraduate student at Johns Hopkins University.

Taylor Macy: Volunteer (2014)
Taylor is an undergraduate at Cornell University, New York, studying Biological Engineering. She work with Ana Almeida in the summer of 2014, studying the interactions between macrophages and T cells in breast and pancreatic cancer.

Mariam is an undergraduate student in the Faculty of Pharmacy and Biotechnology, German University in Cairo, Egypt. She joined the Egeblad lab in the summer of 2013 in order to gain firsthand experience with laboratory techniques used in cancer research.

Esther Yoo: Volunteer (2013)
Esther was a senior at Syosset High School and volunteered in the lab in the summer of 2013.  She helped Juwon Park investigate the role of neutrophils in breast cancer metastasis.

Vishal Vaghela: Volunteer (2013)
Vishal was an undergraudate at Johns Hopkins University and volunteered in the lab in the summer of 2012.  He helped Juwon Park investigate the role of neutrophils in breast cancer metastasis. Vishal is currently a Ph.D. candidate at the program in Biology at the CUNY Graduate center in Manhattan.

Maria Ebert: Volunteer (2011)
Maria volunteered 6 months in the Egeblad lab to gain expertise with handling experimental animals. She is currently a student in Veterinary Medicine at University of Copenhagen.

Juliet Paterek: Intern (2011, 2012)
Juliet is a student at Manhasset High School where she is involved in a Science Research course under her mentor, Peter Guastella. She received a scholarship from The Baker Family through the Manhasset Women Against Breast Cancer Coalition to work for four weeks under the mentorship of Tim Kees. Her project involved using image analysis software to quantify interactions between macrophages and cancer cells. Juliet hopes to pursue a career in science after she graduates high school in 2013.

Nicole Polimeni (2011-12): Volunteer
Nicole was an undergraduate student from Stony Brook University (Biology and Genetics). She worked with Tim and focused on image analysis. After graduation, she worked as a therapeutic riding instructor and will start fall 2013 at the Physician’s Assistant program at New York Institute of Technology.

Nicole Huie: Volunteer (2011)
Nicole Huie is a student at the Johns Hopkins University. She worked alongside Jae-Hyun Park and learned a variety of techniques over the course of the summer 2011. She continues to do research at Johns Hopkins University in the Konstantopoulos Lab.
